Honk Honk

Honk Honk -You wanna a ride?
Honk Honk -Get out of my way!
Honk Honk -I'm switching lanes.
Honk Honk -I need directions.
Honk Honk -A woman!

This is the language of your everyday taxi driver. The sing-song of honks is getting more and more familiar, it would be quite eerie if they stopped blasting their horns.

This past weekend I went to City Stars Mall. It is comparable to the Galleria in size but most definitely not in shops. This mall has a Starbucks and Costa Coffee on every floor, El Chico (out of Dallas), Ruby Tuesday and Chili's. While I don't frequent any of the above places in the states, these places make me feel at home. I'm limiting myself to once a month visits to El Chico and am already craving a Molten Chocolate Cake. Smoking is not allowed in the mall which is fantastical and the mall is extremely clean and quite Western -I will definitely be frequenting this place as a pass-time.

I will probably hit up the pyramids sometime next week and Aswan in a few weekends. I'm looking forward to seeing Sultan Muhammad Shah's Mausoleum there and meeting additional colleagues.

Sharm el-Sheikh (coast of Red Sea in the Sinai peninsula) trip is in the works. Damascus, Syria in mid-April. I think traveling outside of Cairo is my best option.

I turned over a magical leaf last night; I woke up thinking this isn't so bad (shocker). I found myself being more accepting today and taking things in stride. I didn't think this day would come and certainly not so soon. Maybe I will find this supposed charm Cairo has now that I am being more positive.

Pictures coming soon...
